Our Healthy Smiles Program assists families with children that are uninsured or underinsured with scheduling an appointment or referral to a dentist within Alameda County for preventive care or dental treatment needs at no cost. Office of Dental staff assess the urgency of the dental need, the child’s insurance status, and the age of the child to determine program eligibility. Staff are also able to refer families to Health Insurance Technicians (HITS) that assist families with enrolling into medical and dental insurance or other county services.
